Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, Vice President of Indonesia, confirmed that he will be attending the Sarajevo Business Forum 2017, the leading investment conference in Southeast Europe which will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of May in the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is expected that the Indonesian politician will be accompanied by a large business delegation.
With a population of 252 million, Indonesia is the fourth most populated nation in the world and one of the largest business markets after China, India and the United States. The Indonesian economy is steadily growing and is currently among the 20 most developed economies in the world. Their annual GDP growth is 5.5 percent and analysts predict that the upward trend will continue.
Indonesian businessmen are interested in the import of agricultural goods and produce, particularly organic produce, meat and dairy products as well as the textile and lumber industry.
Although Indonesia, with its 17.508 islands, is ranked in the top three tourist destinations in the world, the people of this country regard Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the region as an attractive vacation destination and therefore there exists great interest in building cooperation in the tourism industry.
This year’s Forum focuses on promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region as the European center for organic food production, renewable energy production as well as an attractive tourist and investment destination.
During the conference, interested entrepreneurs have the opportunity to hold direct meetings with foreign investors as organized by BBI Bank. Foreign investors are also planned to visit manufacturing facilities of domestic companies.
Patronage of the Sarajevo Business Forum 2017 is the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina along with the support of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as Chambers of Commerce and local and foreign companies.
