Leading Islamic finance group a platinum sponsor of SBF 2017
Sarajevo Business Forum 2017 is honored to have Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank as a platinum sponsor, the leading Islamic finance group and one of the shareholders of Bosnia Bank International.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank was established on 20th May 1997 as a Public Joint Stock Company through the Amiri Decree No. 9 of 1997. The Bank commenced commercial operations on 11th November 1998, and was formally inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Information and Culture on 18th April 1999.
All contracts, operations and transactions are carried out in accordance with Islamic Sharia’s principles. The Bank is a leading regional Islamic financial services group and has a wide distribution network, with 82 branches and more than 740 ATMs, and a presence in 6 other countries including Egypt, Iraq, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sudan and the United Kingdom.
ADIB commenced its operations with a paid-up capital of One Billion Dirhams divided into hundred million shares, the value of each share being ten dirhams. The shares are quoted on the Abu Dhabi Securities Market.
In 2016 ADIB delivered strong results in a challenging operating environment. Revenues continued to the positive growth trajectory achieving a 5% year-on-year growth with net profit increasing by 1% to AED 1,954 million.
These results highlight ADIB’s robust strategy underpinned by the customer-centric approach and award-winning customer service. Despite slower economic growth, ADIB welcomed over 42,000 new customers, bringing the total number of customers to more than 920,000.
