German Embassy in BiH and Delegation of German Economic Affairs in BiH to become partners during Sarajevo Business Forum 2017 panel

SBF is important regional investment forum andBiH companies are best for cooperation in Western Balkans

The German Embassy and the Delegation of German Economic Affairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the partners of the Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF) 2017 during panel discussion entitled "The European Perspective: Prospects for Modernization and Harmonization of the Southeastern Europe with the European Union" which will take place at the Hills Hotel in Ilidža on 23 May which is the second day of the SBF. On this occasion, the German Embassy in BiH andthe Delegation of German Economic Affairs in BiH issued a joint press release:

"Throughout the last years, Sarajevo Business Forum has consolidated its role as important investment forum in the region. And considering the role of Germany as Bosnia and Herzegovina's most important trade partner and one of the biggest investors in the country, it was obvious to us that we had to support this year's edition even more. Therefore the Delegation of the German Economy/AHK and the German Embassy decided to intensively engage in a panel that illustrates the strong economic ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany, respectively the European Union. We further want to present a project that goes back to an initiative of Chancellor Angela
Merkel which is called Purchasing Initiative Western Balkans. Core of this initiative are B2B-meetings between German companies and representatives from the Western Balkans. This year the third edition takes place in Belgrade and 50 German companies will attend. On the other side, more than 90 companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina applied. They will now be rated and selected by the German purchasers. Last year Bosnian and Herzegovinian companies have been the strongest among Western Balkan companies: One third of the participants have been from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Many of the participating companies reported direct orders after the B2B-meetings showing a large degree of efficiency. So we are looking forward to sharing some insights into this model that seems to work very well for both the regional economy and German companies.", it is said in the joint press release of the German Embassy in BiH and the Delegation of German Economic Affairs in BiH.

"European Perspective" panel discussion will be held on the second day of the Sarajevo Business Forum and it will gather representatives of some of the largest German companies, including Dr. Matthias Schmidt-Rosen, director of the KfW Development Bank Office in Sarajevo (Kreditanstaltfuer + Wiederaufbau) in BiH, Snježana Kopruner, CEO of GS-TMT and the President of the Bosnian-German Business Association,  and Alois Waldburg-Zeil, CEO of the Swiss company Zeochem. Sarajevo Business Forum will be held on 22 and 23 May under the patronage of the Presidency of BiH, with the support of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as chambers of commerce and local and international companies.
