Winners of State Youth Entrepreneurship Competition to Participate in Sarajevo Business Forum 2018!

It’s April, so MUNJA Incubator and its partners have organized yet another largest state entrepreneurship competition for high school students in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Business Challenge.

Business Challenge is organized based on the international methodology of the largest educational program in the field of economics and entrepreneurship - Junior Achievement, which is implemented in over 100 countries. At this competition, 200 high school students from 88 secondary schools and 55 municipalities and cities will demonstrate how they are solve business tasks prepared by managers and entrepreneurship experts. Students are divided into mixed teams with peers from other cities and they use team work and their mentors’ help to come up with the best business solutions and present them to the professional jury and other participants.

“Through the Business Challenge, students develop entrepreneurial spirit and awareness of the importance of proactivity in society and the labor market, as well as develop problem solving skills, teamwork, analytical thinking, presentation skills and self-confidence, which is especially important when we know that 63% young people are unemployed, and the majority of them are thinking about leaving the country," said Jan Zlatan Kulenović, Managing Director of MUNJA Incubator which is the organizer of this competition.

Over the past five years, the Business Challenge competition has gathered more than 600 high school students from more than 100 schools and 60 towns. This year, the partner of the competition is Bosna Bank International (BBI) Sarajevo with its BBI Academy and BBI VIP Business Club platforms. BBI has joined the project because it wants to support the development of entrepreneurial spirit and creativity among the young people across Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thanks to the partnership with BBI Bank, the winning team will participate at the largest investment conference in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo Business Forum, which will be held in Sarajevo on April 25 and 26.

In addition to BBI, this year's partners include successful companies which are investing in young people from BiH, such as Telemach, AS Holding, Ekopak, Ministry of Programming, ITAcademy, Prilika Plus, the Embassy of Switzerland in BiH, the American Chamber of Commerce, the Federal Employment Service, the Government of the Tuzla Canton, the City of Sarajevo and the local hosts: Networks Sarajevo, Innovation Center Banja Luka and SPARK Mostar.

Twenty of the best-ranked students from the finals will represent BiH at the Business Challenge of the Western Balkans in Jahorina with the participation of their peers from Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro.
