SBF Presented in Tuzla: How to use region`s potential

BBI Bank and BBI VIP Business Club organized the round table on "How to Increase the Competitiveness of the Tuzla Canton Economy" today in Tuzla, together with the FBiH Chamber of Commerce, the Tuzla Cantonal Chamber of Commerce and the Tuzla Canton Employers’ Association.

About a hundred leading businessmen from this region took part in the round table discussion.

The aim of the meeting intended for the businessmen from the Tuzla region was to define the priority sectors of the Tuzla Canton economy for the promotion to international partners, exchange experiences in finding the markets, and provide key guidelines for improving and increasing the competitiveness of domestic products and services.

Announcing the round table, Amer Bukvić, Chairman of the Management Board of BBI Bank, pointed out that BBI Bank has been active in this area for eight years now, in support of the development of the economy.

"With its strategic plans, BBI Bank aims to develop BiH economy, and in the last three years alone, we invested 120 million KM through BBI branches in Tuzla, Gradačac, Gračanica, Srebrenik, Kalesija and Živinice. Our commitment is to continue to act as a catalyst for the development of local economy. This is why we organize Sarajevo Busines Forum, as an international investment conference, for the ninth year in a row, in order to dynamize business activities in our country," Bukvić said. He pointed out that Sarajevo Business Forum is an excellent platform for the economic integration of the region for the purpose of entering international markets, which is an opportunity for BiH to kickstart its economy while domestic producers can find their markets.

President of the Tuzla Canton Employers' Association Ramiz Karić presented the potential and possibilities for the development of this region.

"This canton is among the strongest in terms of its industry. We have great potential for development in wood processing, metal and chemical industries. We also have a great opportunity for development in the field of tourism," Karić said.

On this occasion, the businessmen were introduced to a new online platform as part of Sarajevo Business Forum, which is used to present companies’ profiles and projects as well as arrange B2B meetings.

This round table is a part of the series of events organized by BBI VIP Business Club and BBI Bank, with the aim of strengthening entire BiH economy and the competitiveness of BiH products on international markets.

HMM Furniture company and its CEO Miralem Bristrić presented their success story. Representatives of Intral company and its CEO Alija Šehović did the same for their company, whose products are being exported around the world.

The next round table will be held on February 22 at Jelena Hotel in Brčko, starting at 12 PM.
